Cronelia, the Wreathed Domain

Dubbed “The Wreathed Domain”, Cronelia, the ninth planet from Sol, is another gas giant with no solid surface and abundant life around it. Still hosting wildlife in its finer composition of gasses, Cronelia’s rings carry asteroids large enough to support entire ecosystems and pockets of climate. The creatures surrounding Cronelia have adapted to life in a vacuum and fly freely within the environment. Cronelia’s rings are comprised of exotic minerals, ice, and dust, causing them to reflect a beautiful hue of pinks, browns, and greens.

The Cronelians

The Cronelians are the majority sentient species that populates the Crown of Cronelia. Cronelians stand at an average of eleven feet tall. They have large faces shaped like petals; their only facial features are solid eyes. Due to their lack of mouth, they speak telepathically. Cronelians are capable of feats of magic rivaling the Æfensteorrans due to their unique physiology. They are accustomed to living in a vacuum but can live in cities using artificial gravity for the sake of visitors.

The Crown of Cronelia

The Crown of Cronelia is a populated section of the rings that surround the planet. Large asteroids within the Crown funnel rivers through cities and towns anchored along the movement of the rings. These settlements are protected by glass domes and are suspended on motors that allow them to rotate for incoming ships or outside phenomena such as meteor shows and radiation. Some infrastructure in the Crown freely moves within the rings using propulsion, acting as individual ships, but lack the autonomy to fly further than Cronelia’s atmosphere.

In the Pursuit of Knowledge

Cronelians act as diligent allies of the Republic but rarely get involved in its military. Instead, they offer the resources on the many moons surrounding their homeworld and within the planet, which contain rare gases to be siphoned and applied. Some rings are reserved for farming upon smaller plots of floating land and mining the millions of deposits suspended within the planet’s orbit. The magical knowledge of the Cronelians is also offered to the broader system through their many universities and leadership within the Republic.
